Have you ever wonder how it feels like when you are in the same place where the famous celebrities worldwide like Heidi Klum, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga, Eva Mendes and the ever socialite Paris Hilton hangs out? Well, I do. It was like feeling to be on a most luxurious place with an elegant ambiance. Hmmm… sounds like it was too costly, huh? Uh-oh… No, you don’t have to travel abroad or be in Paris to experience those things.

The Buddha-Bar Manila Part 1

One of the most sophisticated bar I’ve ever seen online thru celebrity’s tweets and the likes is the Buddha-Bar. Buddha-Bar is an extraordinary chain of restaurant located in cities such as Paris, Washington, Dubai, Monte Carlo, Keiv and of course, here’s the good news, they’ve open their 13th branch in the world here in Manila. Yeah right! You and I will now have a chance to experience to dine and party-all-night in a high class restaurant in the Metro.

And I’m glad that last March 1, I’ve got a chance to visit Buddha-Bar Manila, a 3 floors – bar on the 1st Floor, on the 2nd floor is where the restaurant located and on the 3rd floor the roof deck bar with a scenic view – restaurant/bar located at the Picar Place, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City. I was in awe as I stepped on the door going inside the restaurant. Wow, such a top-of-the-line restaurant-bar that really worth visiting. Meanwhile, please do pardon me on my photos because I forgot to bring my DSLR, thus, the quality of the photos here is not quite good. But, I promise to myself that I would come back here soon (P’s Birthday ^_^) with my special someone and with my DSLR so I can blog it again with better pictures.

The design of the bar with the oriental décor of the gigantic Buddha place in the middle of the restaurant was carefully outlined and conceived by Paris designers to make sure that it stays true to the brand’s classy standing and proud lifestyle heritage.

In addition to that, all the materials used here, from the floor to ceiling, were imported in Paris. Thus, the similarities of appearance of Buddha-Bar Manila to other branches in the world are inevitable.
So that’s it for now, stay tuned for my dining experience and of course my drink-all-you-can and party-all-night experience at the roof top.

For the meantime, you can visit their website here for more information or like them on Facebook here for updates. You can also tweet them here or follow them on Instagram here for sumptuous and fun facts.

Nothing beats going out to dinner and making a little extra at the end of your meal. That is one of the benefits diners would be getting with the newly launched IF card, the loyalty discount card that could be used at all restaurants of the I-Foods Inc. group.

IFoods Card: The flavors of the Worlds with Discounts at your fingertips
Since 2001, I-Foods Inc. has been dishing up delicious meals at reasonable prices for Filipinos wishing to have a taste of world cooking. Its restaurants have made Japanese food an important part of every family celebration, while its other restaurant concepts have allowed Filipinos from all walks of life to sample Italian, African and Korean cooking.

I-Foods Inc. started in 2001 when its president Bryan Tiu opened the first Teriyaki Boy outlet in Greenhills, San Juan. The restaurant gained popularity by word of mouth that, by the end of 2005, the brand already had 10 branches in Metro Manila. The concept was much in demand that the Pancake House Group bought a partnership with I-Foods Inc. that now makes the Japanese fast-food place one of the most popular in the country.

IFoods Card: The flavors of the Worlds with Discounts at your fingertips
From Teriyaki Boy, the company expanded with other restaurant concepts. Tokyo Café served Western food with a Japanese twist in a comfortable modern Japanese ambience. Its menu of hot and cold coffee beverages is comparable with those offered at some coffee franchises. Stackers Burger Café offers premium burgers that use 100 percent imported beef from Australia. All burgers could be customized with your choice of sauce and toppings, something other burger joints don’t offer.

Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken reinvented chicken barbecue with a spicy marinade that hails from South Africa. The fact that the chicken is grilled of its fat makes it a healthy alternative to commercial fried chicken. Kogi Bulgogi brings home the fad for things Korean with its menu of beef bulgogi, kimchi and other Seoul food. Parmigiano Ristorante Pizzeria brings Napoletana Pizza-style thin crust pizza that cooks in just 90 seconds for one of the quickest service in the country.

If you want to enjoy a world of dining different from what you get at other fast-food places in the metro, then the IF Card is your guarantee to a great dining experience coupled with big savings.

With an IF Card, you get a 15% discount on all your purchases at all I-Foods restaurant in Metro Manila for the duration of the validity of your card. The discount will be applied to your total bill no matter how much your total spend is. And with a card validity of two years, that’s worth a lot of pesos.

And unlike other cards, the IF Card also earns you rebates on your all your food purchases. For every P200 that you spend at an I-Foods restaurant, you get a P1 rebate, which may be used to pay for purchases in future visits at any of its restaurants.

To sweeten the deal further, the IF Card also gives a cardholder a one-time 25% discount on his/her birthday month. This discount may be availed of at any I-Food restaurant.

Whether you have a craving for Tokyo Café’s hot or iced coffee beverages, Stackers customizable premium burgers, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken’s Peri-Peri Chicken, Kogi Bulgogi’s beef bulgogi and bibimbap, or Parmigiano Ristorante Pizzeria’s Napoletana-style pizzas, you will surely enjoy these treats at a bargain with your IF card.

Happy Wednesday, Happy Eating!

Food of the Day: Shakey’s Pizza and Supreme Mojos [Hard work really Pays Off]

Hopefully I’ll be consistent on posting my daily dose of “Food of the Day” to show some love to my food blog. It’s been a while [decade maybe!] since the last time I posted my day-to-day food, so wish me luck and I’m really hoping to do this daily.

Meanwhile, here’s our food of the day and the story behind it. Last week, I promised to my team that if they consistently wiped out all the service requests on our queue, I’ll treat them with pizza. This also motivates them to work beyond their normal routines. Well, as they accepted the challenge, I am happy to know that every day they really did their best to left nothing on our queue before the 2nd shift comes in. [clap*clap*clap]

With that, I decided to order a Party Size (14”) Italian Sausage Pizza with 1.5L Coke Zero for P663 and Supreme Mojos for P349 from Shakey’s (dial 77-7777). Good thing, Yani has Shakey's Supervalue Card, thus, a pepperoni party-size pizza was for free.

That’s it for today! Well, I must say that hard work has been paid off!

As for my breakfast, I got this Free Egg McMuffin from McDonald’s and to complete the meal, I bought Hot Chocolate for only P35. Why do they are offering free Egg McMuffin? Well, this is for the celebration of National Breakfast Day that happening today. Lucky me and some office friends ‘coz they also got their FREE EGG MCMUFFIN at McDonald’s Aegis People Support, Makati City branch. (“ ,)

Hooray for Today!

From the smooth and velvety to the sweet cakes without the guilt, Café 1771 presents its homespun cake creations by Pastry Chef Arnold Bautista that will surely make your beloved graduate say that life is sweet. Available in 2-inch round sizes good for 2 persons, this petite cake is perfect for gift or when you want a cake dessert that tastes good as it looks.

Rose Noire

If thinking of a dessert that will signify your well-deserved congratulations, Rose Noire (P250 net) is a delightful surprise, especially for someone who’s a certified chocolate lover. Lavish layers of Valrhona dark chocolate with hazel nut praline that sits on a crunchy crust, this chocolate-loaded creation also comes with a surprise at the center: a croquantine for some crunch and dark chocolate flavor with a distinct praline taste.

For something that can make anyone dive right in, Evasion (P270 net) gives this promise: an evasive combo of white and dark chocolates with cream cheese and fresh strawberry in a lightly crispy feullentine at the center. What’s more to love? It’s not too sweet and amazingly creamy.

Gianduja Truffle Mousse
Light, pillowy and comes with a nutty center, the Gianduja Truffle Mousse (P250 net) combines the dark and white chocolate praline flavors.  Structured with elements that will surprise the palate, its sweetness comes from the base made of chocolate sponge then followed by marshmallows with cashew nuts and topped off with chocolate mousse as a velvety finish.

sugar-free coffee pie

And who wouldn’t want the 1771 Group of Restaurants signature dessert, the sugar-free coffee pie (P220 net)? An epic recipe from the family of Executive Chef Vicky Rose-Pacheco for over twenty years, the addicting secret is in the crisp texture of the combined flavors of Dutch cocoa and coffee with cashew nuts. And with no bells and whistles or outré ingredients, this version is sweetened with coconut sugar and lightly dusted with cocoa for an awfully memorable dessert minus the guilt.

A good cake not only serves as a delightful centerpiece—the very presence of it on the table marks a celebration itself. For an extra touch of something dreamy and decadent to welcome another chapter of a hard working graduate, give these mini cakes as a surprise, guaranteed to communicate your love and best wishes!
