Padova, Italy. Where the sweetness began In between Venice and Verona lies the oldest city in Northern Italy – Padova. It is surrounded by the picturesque views of Brenta River, the Ventian Plain, and Euganaean Hills. Tucked in these great sceneries are arcaded streets leading to large communal plazas.

Padova, Italy
Through the years, Padova was able to preserve its romantic ambience with architectural landmarks like the Scrovegni Chapel that houses remarkable frescoes, and the Basilica di Sant’Antonio de Padova that is splendidly decorated with carved marbles, sculptural works, and gothic details. Padova also shelters Donatello’s equestrian statue of General Gattamelata and the Prato della Valle, which is considered one of the biggest elliptical squares in Europe. A line of 78 statues surrounding a wide garden is another sight to behold.

With citizens and tourists strolling around the plazas day and night, one can notice the tranquil lifestyle in Padova. Amongst the crowded areas, a small, idyllic town nestles in the heart of Padova, Italy called Villa del Conte. It is where ancient legacies dwell, and soon became the home of world-class artisanal chocolates. The making of the finest cioccolato in Villa del Conte began in the hands of Nazzareno Cattapan. Eventually, his exceptional recipe was passed on to the following generations. Preserving this legacy today is the third-generation chocolate connoisseur Enrico Nazzareno.

For 81 years, Villa del Conte has been making exceptional chocolates especially made by their artisans. Using only handpicked cacao beans shaped to perfection, one can easily notice and taste the masterpiece of authentic Italian tradition. In addition to being a city of fine arts, religion, architecture, and academe, Padova has truly made its mark in the history as the place where premium chocolates are made from.

This is where the sweetness started.

For decades now, Villa del Conte chocolates have been delighting the hearts of many people in and out of Italy. Take home a sweet piece of Padova in a box of fine chocolates.

Happy Lemon and Magazines

If I were to ask, what would be my happiness aside, of course, from God, Family, P, traveling and Friends? I would answer, right there and then, Happy Lemon in my favorite Green Tea and Rock Salt & Cheese and Magazines/Books where I can diverse myself onto different worlds. Yes, they make me happy and I think living a day without acquiring knowledge through reading is a wasted time. Well, it comes with a very good and delicious drink, right.

Meanwhile, enjoy your weekend! Let me share via comments below on where your food trips would be?

I can say that whenever we craved for something comfort food, Buffalo’s Wings ‘n Things is one of the choices among restaurants that offers scrumptious meals that one could ever ask for. And luckily, they have branch in Makati City where corporate professionals like me can indulge ourselves anytime.

Meanwhile, one of the newest branch that I have tried, together with my blogger friends and the cool and fun to be with - Openrice Team, was their newly opened branch located in Ayala Fairview Terraces. It was an afternoon of eating their finest buffalo wings over a great and fun conversation with friends. The ambiance is great and beyond home-y so I bet eating at this branch feels like home. The interior is cozy and unique. I love how they incorporate fork, spoon, and knife in the floor. At first, I was about to pick it up as I thought someone fell this stuff accidentally.

Honey Barbeque

For the food, we had Chili ‘n Cheese nachos and Chick'n Quesadillas as starters. Afterwards we had the Garlic Parmesan, Classic New York style, Honey Barbeque and the Buffalo Burgers. We also ordered to dirty rice, which is of course not dirty at all, to pair with the wings. Ha-ha. Absolutely, a Filipino style that can’t eat without rice. Anyways, we also tried the Ultimate Wingsanity that has the highest level of being spicy. It has been featured many times and since we’re already there we also took the chance to try it out. Whew! That was insanely hot! I was like eating a raw chili. That was intense. But before eating it, you will ask to sign a waiver and once done eating a certificate will be handed to you. So, better head on the nearest Buffalo’s Wings ‘n Things branch and take the challenge.

New York Cheesecake Ice Cream

New York Cheesecake Ice Cream will do wonder to bring back your sanity after having that Ultimate Wingsanity. So better, order it first and advise the staff to serve it after a minute of eating the spiciest chicken wings.

To sum it up, it was an afternoon of fun and wonderful dining experience. And yes, I am absolutely recommending them to all foodies out there to come and visit their store and indulge yourself to their sumptuous chicken wings. More flavors to choose from and the level of hotness (spicy) will be according to your preferences. My favorite? Hmmm… I love the Garlic Parmesan and Rookie. And the New York Cheesecake Ice Cream is a must try.

Hooray Monday! I just started my week right and yummy healthy! How about you my dear? Well, I hope and wish you do the same and as of this writing, you already celebrating the best moment of your life.

More so, I’d attended an eye-opener to a healthy lifestyle event earlier held at Chef Jessie, Club Rockwell, Amorsolo Bldg., Makati City, the grand launch of RiCo Corn Rice. Yeah, it’s all about eating the healthy way without sacrificing a lot. Like for example, ones has to use the stairs instead of escalator or elevator, walking instead of riding a vehicle, all we need is to push ourselves to that extra step towards a healthier life and happier individual. I know most of you, would agree with me. Well, one of favorite routines during weekends or off work is to do the household chores, instead of, sitting down and watching TV.

So with that said, let me introduce to you guys and gals an alternative to the ordinary rice but without depriving ourselves from the pleasure of a good meal, thus, we still have the best of both worlds while enjoying its health benefits, the RiCo Corn Rice. RiCo corn rice is made 100% Philippine-grown corn; yeah it is locally made, fortified with iron and calcium. It is shaped like rice through the help of technology and machineries for us to savor the look and feel of ordinary rice and yet have the nutrition corn offers. Each grain is rich in antioxidants and Vitamin A as well as beta-carotene and lutein which are good for eyesight, it also provides sustained energy as a complex carbohydrates. Corn is also known for its high fiber content, a quality valued by the figure-conscious, ehem… like me and those who want to lose weight. It is also good for diabetics, because it has no cholesterol and has lower glycemic index for controlled and balanced sugar.

During the launch earlier, RiCo’s very own Chef Joey dela Cruz demonstrated the three easy steps of cooking RiCo. You just have to keep in mind these three letters – BPS.
Boil – Boil the suggested amount of water.
Pour – Pour the desired amount of water.
Simmer – Simmer for about 10-15minutes.
That’s it, easy peasy steps, right? But you have to take note that you do not need to wash RiCo Corn Rice as it is already cleaned before doing the process of making it into a rice-shaped grains. Plus, if you wash it, you might loss its water-soluble nutrients. Meanwhile, while we were busy listening about the details of RiCo Corn Rice and its humble beginnings, Chef Jessie was busy in the kitchen preparing our sumptuous lunch having RiCo corn rice in it.

It was indeed a yummy afternoon towards a healthy life. The locally produced RiCo corn rice is a first from the Philippines, thus, it also provides an increased livelihood for our farmers and develop our country’s natural resources. My take on RiCo Corn rice, I love it and definitely introduce this to my family and loved ones. My Mom loves rice but she’s diabetic that’s why she needs to be watchful on what she eats. By having RiCo corn rice on our table every meal makes her life wonderfully healthy and of course, us her kids, would absolutely on our way to a yummy healthy life’s journey. It tasted like real rice so there’s nothing to worry about plus each grain is loaded with nutrients that we needed. I, basically needed nutrients for my eyesight. Having this daily on our meal – breakfast, lunch & dinner – is such bliss!

Furthermore, there are also recipes for RiCo Corn Rice posted on their website – Come, visit and explore the site and discover how to have a yummy healthy life where everyone’s aim for. Let’s do this! And share your own little steps towards a healthy lifestyle; I would love to know it, so please share it via comment below.

RiCo Corn Rice is available in 1-kilogram (P70), 2-kilogram (P125) and 5-kilogram (P300) packs at SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket, Rustan’s Supermarket, Walter Mart Supermarket, Robinsons Supermarket, Ever Supermarket, The Landmark Supermarket, Sta.
